“…. thank you again for an extraordinary, life changing adventure. Your generosity of vision, creativity and technique was extraordinary.”

Morag Paterson and Ted Leeming are internationally recognised for their ground breaking impressionist ICM techniques, but their individual styles also embrace a wide range of traditional, abstract and experimental techniques.

A key focus of all their workshops is to share their combined knowledge and proactively help participants get in touch with their own inner creativity with a view to developing individual style and increasing confidence.

Understanding light and responding to the conditions encountered is one of their specialities, whether it’s capturing that must-have classic image or exploring the less conventional. They run a number of scheduled workshops and tours throughout the year in association with Ocean Capture, as well as private workshops for individuals and groups in locations across the globe.

Spaces are limited to ensure abundant personal attention with a real focus on mentoring. Where ever possible they build in ample time at key locations to allow participants time to fully engage with their surroundings and explore the photographic potential of each venue.

All Leeming and Paterson workshops are hosted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on sharing knowledge and skills. Visiting the very best locations worldwide, from the well-known favourites to some of the secret nooks and crannies only the locals know you can be sure they’ve hand-picked every stop, adapting as necessary to suit weather conditions and time of year.

Their tours are generally accessible to photographers of all abilities, and special attention is paid to understanding individual goals and how to meet them. Review sessions are built-in as standard to accelerate progress. They also offer custom tailored personal development and mentoring programmes and one-to-one tuition together with portfolio reviews, which can be stand alone or an add-on prior to or after a workshop.

"Thanks so much for another wonderful weekend. The way you share your expertise so unstintingly is just great, as is the way you open your home and make us all so welcome."

"I greatly enjoyed doing the workshops with Ted and Morag. They encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone and try lots of new things. I really found the review sessions helpful as we all got lots of constructive feedback on the images we created. Thoroughly recommended to anyone looking to broaden their approach to photography.”

"Meanwhile thanks again for all the ideas and inspiration. I love your work but also the way you develop and where new ideas come from.”

"(I want) to express my gratitude to you for the excellent day that we share in your home in Scotland. Your openness and generosity during the workshop was very valuable for me."

"I had a really enjoyable 2 days and was made to feel very welcome. Despite being a complete novice, I felt really comfortable asking some basic questions. A good mix of theory and field work and the time passed so quickly. I will never use the auto setting again!"

"Please know; if asked, I would recommend your weekend workshop to anyone, unreservedly."

"Thank you both for the excellent trip. I learned so much and will be able to work on the techniques you both taught as I move forward”
