Ted Leeming and Morag Paterson have creatively explored their 11 acre smallholding of natural regeneration, native woodland planting and garden since it was first fenced from the surrounding hillside 12 years ago. As their relationship with place deepens so has the way they see what is around them, with an ever increasing appreciation of local and understanding of change. This exhibition and talk explore these themes through the habitats both ‘inside’ the boundary lines and ‘outside’, where landscape, cultural identity and biodiversity could alter rapidly over the next decade depending on existing and new agricultural subsidies, forest policies, mining and the rush to secure carbon credits through natural capital. The project continues their journey, presenting traditional photography with more experimental and abstract photographic processes, rather than addressing the subject from a purely documentary perspective.

Stay tuned for more updates!  Opening night at the Catstrand, New Galloway on Wednesday 2nd February. Exhibit runs from 1st Feb - 1st March. Conversations and talks at the Catstrand 24th February. For more information phone: 01644 420374.
