It took four visits and 5 days before the light truly did this image justice. I was trying to capture the islands as though "floating" on the tranquil waters of the bay. The faint outline of the Outer Isles appear almost cloudlike beneath the smokey haze of the evening light.

Such was the overall scene that evening that I struggled to concentrate on the photography, even though I had been sat on top (ok, I did have a little siesta) of Cairn Conmheall above Achraie and Achiltibuie since early afternoon. My grin and euphoria were such that as I descended the pathless slopes in the dusky evening light I nearly skipped straight over a crag!
