Kingdom of the Gods
Cader Idris
It was July. And that meant a very early start to be at the top of the hill before dawn. The valley was in thick mist as I awoke but aI crossed my fingers and hope for something better later in the day. As the dawn broke the heat of the day began to disipate the cloud that shrouded the entire valley (only the very peaks of Snowdonia National Park were visible above the cloud at first light). It was another breathtaking morning.
This shot was taken some 4-5 hours after leaving the van as the sun's rays rose high enough to penetrate the cloud and hit the fields below. I stayed on the tops for about 2 hours and was half way down beore I saw the second climbers of the day (other than the couple who had slept out on the tops!)stuggling their way up in what was turning into a blisteringly hot day. I did little else but shower and read for the remainder of the day but felt not the slightest guilty!
